Detection of the tiger mosquito Aedes albopictus In August 2004, the MCS detected in Sant Cugat del Vallès,
Barcelona, the invasive asian mosquito, Aedes albopictus.
This asiatic mosquito has reached different countries in the world
including Spain. This
finding is the first one in the Iberian peninsula. Interreg Ecolangunes project Our MCS is member of the European project Ecolagunes all together with other fourteen grups coming from eight European and African countries. The aim of the project is to promote a better mosquito control and increase the relationship among different public european services. |
